This calf was not one I was prepared to be so large -- a smaller framed heifer, who was barely ready for birth decided it "was time" - Jason came home for me about 10:30pm Wednesday night saying we needed to go pull this calf -- there is no video from it just beaseu - well its dark, we was in open pasture - and honestly it was a very stressful situation for us, the heifer & the baby --- Full on Honestly . I did not expect it to be alive when we did pull it let alone see if it would survive 3-4 hours with its mom.

We decided at 1:30am Thursday that we'd leave him in the pasture with his mom, she was trying to lick him clean & I felt like he needed the chance -- at 4:30am I went to do my morning checks .. he was not dry - she was not attempting motherhood -- he'd not gotten up / nursed etc.. I went home . got Jason up - and we had to bring him back home ..

From there we spent a good 12 hours just getting him "going" and warm - the KEY to babies, are getting them WARM before ever trying to feed them -- I have learned this from watching man of @SandiBrock lambing videos - get their temp up first!
I did give him an antibiotic (Draxxin) + anti-inflammatory - which we order directly from @FarmersBusinessNetwork after consulting with our vet ...
