Prince William & Harry to be separated at Prince Philip’s funeral

Prince Harry and Prince William will be separated at the funeral of Prince Philip on Saturday as they walk behind his coffin. The brothers will be 12 feet apart, with Princess Anne’s son Peter Philips walking between them as members of the Royal family pay their respects to the Duke of Edinburgh.

Due to coronavirus rules, just 30 close members of the family will be allowed to attend the funeral in person. The service will also be broadcast around the world for viewers at home.

The current seating arrangement is unknown, though the procession will have to stick to social distancing rules. Buckingham Palace says the arrangements have been agreed by the entire family and represent the Queen’s wishes.

The service is due to start at quarter to three on Saturday afternoon when members of the family will set off for an eight-minute walk to St George’s Chapel at Windsor. Prince Philip’s coffin will be transported in a converted Land Rover.

The Queen will be driven to the ceremony in her state Bentley and it is understood that she will sit alone in the Chapel with a mask on at all times. A national one minute silence will be held at 3 pm to mark the start of the funeral.

It is believed the service will be the first time Prince Harry and William will have seen each other since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s controversial interview with Oprah which was highly critical of the Royal Family.
