1989 Vintage racing at Lime Rock.

Quick Vic is very patient with Larry Nuber, who talks up a 30yr old Formula Libre (with the USAC folks doing so well back then) race. I guess this one's a step forward for Nuber. I don't have it on tape, but I sure do remember the man walking through the grid at the Copper Classic right around the same year pretty much asking everyone there '..why do *you* hate road racing?..' At least he knows his pre-war AAA Indycar stuff.

I miss vintage "vintage" racing. that long ago, so many of them were still being driven, instead of parked in garages. And so many great drivers of the past showed up and took out any car they could find. Did anyone else notice Miles Collier was driving, and Bob Akin decided to play around? Look long enough, and you'll actually see Ted Wenz driving.

And the Libre recreation actually turned out to be a pretty cool race after all. Rodger Ward, John Fitch, and Dr. Dick Thompson. Denise McCluggage (RIP), too! They only showed her when her car broke, that kind of stinks.
