We jumped into having pigs last fall, and if you've followed along, you know we have just six piglets from that venture - which honestly, has been a good number to start with. Having those piglets hasn't been without it's sad times, but has certainly brought a joy to the farm that wasn't here before. We wanted to get our boys (four of those boar piglets) catrated a couple of weeks ago, but we were working out logistically how to secure mamas without the risk of injury to us...one of them is pretty feisty over the babies! So, this past weekend was the day! I hope if you have piglets, that this gives you some guidance on how easy it can be. Of course, if you're unsure of doing it, seek out a veterinarian for advice or a farm call.

Many things on the farm, we don't LIKE to do, but we have to for the safety and best interest of the animals and for us...castration is one of those things. This was Cullen and Effie's first time seeing it, and although they didn't love it, they were both fantastic helpers!
