Roy: Why are you holding up your fingers like that?
John: Huh? Do you not know this gesture? It represents V, victory. It’s an usual gesture when taking photos!
Roy: Oh. I think I’ve heard of it. But it means different in India.
John: Like a scissors in rock, paper, scissors?
Roy: Haha, that too.
John: What’s the other definition?
Roy: Students in India use it to their teacher as a sign symbol.
John: What does that mean?
Roy: It means, ‘I want to go take a dump right now.'
Jessica: Haha, sounds cute.
John: I really like this victory sign, but I will try to not to use it in a classroom. What about going for a pee?
Roy: Oh for a pee, you just have to stick up your little finger.
John: Wow, that’s interesting... It’s usually a gesture for making a promise.
Jessica: It’s really fun to learn different cultures! Anyways, I was really confused with a gesture of showing your palm.
Roy: How come? That’s just describing as, ‘Stop there.’ or ‘Reject’.
Jessica: You are right. But it’s a gesture to curse someone in Africa. I can’t even explain it with my mouth.
Roy: I see.. I never knew that. I think I should be careful and try to understand other’s culture.
John: Yea... Absolutely right.
