Richard Williams was in a dark place a few years after a serious car accident left him in a wheelchair.

Then, he found adaptive mountain biking.

The bikes allow people with a disability to take to the trails without any support.

A lot of the bikes are three-wheeled and use some form of power-assist. It allows riders to tackle the bumps and hills of the trails and keep up with able-bodied friends.

Some of the most spectacular trails in Australia are being built in WA, and so too are specific adaptive bike trails.

Meet the riders, their adaptive bikes and see the trails that are pushing the riders to their limits.
