The 1967 Corvette C2 Stingray was the last Corvette of the second generation, and five years of refinements made it the best of the line. The 427/435HP L71 StingRay would be the high-water mark of Corvette performance and refinement for the C2 series of cars. Changes were modest with five smaller front fender vents replacing the three larger ones and the flat-finish rockers conferred a lower profile. New was a single backup light mounted above the license plate and the previous models' wheel covers were exchanged for the new design. Interior alterations included revised upholstery and the handbrake moved from beneath the dash to between the seats. The 427/435hp came standard from the factory with the Holley triple two-barrel carburetor arrangement called Tri-Power. The rare L71 engine package cost the original buyer an extra $437.10 on the GM order form.

This spectacular 427/435hp roadster is finished in its original color of Marlboro Maroon with contrasting black convertible top, black interior and black “stinger”. It is the beneficiary of a comprehensive, true no-expense-spared, body-off nut and bolt restoration by a very respected marque specialist who has restored some of the rarest, most expensive Corvettes in the world. Amazingly, this special example retains its CCAS Validated matching-numbers engine, as well as its numbers matching transmission which is a truly very difficult find. Furthering its authenticity is the original tank sticker that has been validated by NCRS, verifying factory options including dual side-exhaust pipes, power-assisted brakes, tinted windshield and teak steering wheel, along with the vaunted factory ordered L71 427/435 hp tri-power engine.

This Corvette was treated to an immaculate award-winning restoration, and upon close inspection, it quickly becomes apparent that the work was done in an extremely professional manner with outstanding attention to detail everywhere, utilizing the correct materials and colors throughout. The body was taken down to bare fiberglass and fully restored. The chassis and all suspension components have been restored to their as new condition. It rides on period-correct redline bias ply tires fitted to the aforementioned classic Corvette Rally Wheels. Under Close inspection you will find the original chassis and factory markings are in their place, in addition to factory inspection stickers.

Attesting to its sensational restoration quality and remarkable authenticity, this magnificent Corvette is the recipient of an NCRS Top Flight Award, Bloomington Gold Certification, Gold Spinner Award thus earning itself the vaunted “Triple Crown Award”. Upon close inspection, the astute collector will recognize that this is a very rare opportunity to acquire a worthy addition to any premium Corvette or muscle car collection, as the car can truly be represented as one of the finest Stingrays extant.
