After retiring from a professional boxing career and returning to his hometown of Pikeville, KY, Mayfield Pennington opened a small community boxing gym. The 2009 AMI film "Mayfield" serves as a reflection of his career and upbringing, as well as the opening of the gym and what impact it has created for youth within the area.
