Bret and Heather 67th DarkHorse Podcast Livestream: What the W.H.O?

In this 67th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we discuss the state of the world through an evolutionary lens. In this episode, we begin by discussing how to approach the investigation into the origin of SARS-CoV2. We should be looking for an intermediate, be it a yet undiscovered human population that was infected in 2019, a (now frozen) ferret-badger, a lab doing gain-of-function research, perhaps something else? When a CNN anchor asks the spokesman for the W.H.O task force on the origin of SARS-CoV2 for evidence, and he does not provide it, what should we think? What would a complete set of appropriate policies for Covid-19 look like? Why has UC Berkeley banned outdoor, solitary exercise? Does masking outside while alone make sense?

Thereafter we pivot: Our sleep cycles synchronize to the moon, more so the less exposed we are to electric light. Fish exposed to Prozac in the water—as most wild fish now are—become less interesting, and more flattened, personality-wise. And what will happen to Carnaval (and Mardi Gras) this year? What is the value of long-held traditions like Lent, and like Carnaval, and what happens when those traditions are disrupted? We should be paying attention to the ancient forces that made us who we are, and be more cautious to those that are brand new.
