Blanchard on close City Council race 'It's exhilarating, to be honest'
Zac Blanchard is a marine veteran, a father, a high school football coach at Digital Harbor High School and is going head to head against incumbent Eric Costello for the district 11 city council seat. "It's exhilarating, to be honest," Blanchard said. He said there are several issues he wants to address if elected. "I've been beating the drum since before the campaign started on the importance of fighting the abandoned housing crisis, which. Impact some neighborhoods in our district, like up in there's 307 abandoned properties," Blanchard said. Another big focus for him are young people in his district. "I've been, you know, really, consistently emphasizing the importance of good vocational training," Blanchard said. He also says he wants to help make downtown Baltimore more vibrant. In an effort to achieve those goals, he says his campaign consisted largely of mail and digital advertising on top of volunteer work, door knocking, meet and greets, and more.
