James Braha on the Importance of Bhav Chalit Chart: Rasi chart is the chart cast for the date, time, and place of birth of the native, this is the first chart cast and all other charts are dependent on this chart. Hence this chart has great significance.

However, in some cases, although some planets may appear to be posited in a sign/house in the Rasi Chart but shift their place into the succeeding or preceding house in the Bhava chart (Chalit Chart). The reason is while casting the Rasi chart by the popular sripathi method, the Bhava Madhya is considered as the identification of a bhava. In cases where the Bhava Madhya of say 10th house is located at say 20 deg Taurus, the Bhava extends from 05 deg Taurus to 05 deg Gemini. When a planet is posited in say 4 deg Taurus although it will be seen as in the 10th Bhava but actually it is in the 9th Bhava. So it becomes a significator of 9th and not 10th.

The correct interpretation of the results of this planet is by referring to the Bhava chart along with the Rasi Chart. If the Bhava chart is not considered, a planet that appears to give employment can actually cause loss of a job.

The aspects and conjunctions are considered from the Rasi Chart only. So, both are important in interpretation, there is nothing like one greater than the other as both have their purposes in reading the chart.
