The Becker Farm Railroad (a.k.a. The Centerville and Southwestern RR) lives on in Phillipsburg, NJ. After sitting in a stable for years in Monmouth County the railroad was moved to Phillipsburg by the Phillipsburg Railroad Historians. Little by little the railroad is being extended as time, volunteer hours are available and land is acquired for the expansion. In October 2011 the C&S was operated in conjunction with the Town of Phillipsburg celebration of An Old Fashioned Autumn. Stiff winds and variable cloudiness were the order of the day. Nonetheless, guests wandered over from the park and enjoyed a ride on the Centerville and Southwestern miniature railroad. You just have to look at the faces of the riders to know why we continue the tradition started by Gene Becker.
