The Only Chicken Karaage Recipe You Need!

The karaage stick is a Japanese fried chicken filled with flavor. Juicy on the inside & crunchy on the outside, it's amazing as a meal or a snack on the go!

[Ingredients]
2 to 3 chicken thighs
3 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp sake
3 tbsp mirin
2/3 tbsp grated garlic & ginger
Flour & potato starch

1. Cut out bones/tendons/excess fat from chicken thigh, then cut into large pieces. Place into a large bowl.
2. Add soy sauce, sake, mirin, grated garlic & ginger. Squeeze & mix.
3. Cover the surface & bowl with plastic wrap. Marinate for at least 1/2 hour, ideally overnight.
4. Add random amount of flour, then mix & cover the chicken.
5. Cover in potato starch. They should look white & dry.
6. Fry at 320°(F) for 4 to 5 minutes, moving them around half way through.
7. Take it out, rest for 5 minutes.
8. Fry again at 355°(F) for a minute and/or until golden.
9. Place onto skewer, optionally sprinkle shichimi and/or lemon.
