Ukraine Row: US Warns China Over Russia Sanctions, Putin Sends Warships To Syria In Message To NATO

Russian President Vladimir Putin has met his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping amid heightened tensions in Ukraine. The two leaders came together in a show of unity amid their increasingly fraught relationship with the US. Hours before the meeting, the US warned China against helping Russia dodge potential Ukraine-linked sanctions. Experts say Xi’s meeting with Putin is also a show of defiance against Washington’s warnings.

Meanwhile, a group of amphibious assault ships of Northern and Baltic fleets have arrived at the Russian Navy’s logistics facility in Syria’s Tartus port, sending worrying message to NATO.
