Before The Quarry. Before The Dark Pictures Anthology. There was Until Dawn — the 2015 PS4 exclusive that put Supermassive Games on the map. Now, ten years later, Ballistic Moon (a studio founded by veterans of the original development team) has rebuilt this horror classic from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5. This isn't just a remaster. This is a full cinematic reimagining.

What's new in the 2024 remake:

✅ Unreal Engine 5 Visual Overhaul — Ray tracing, dynamic lighting, real-time fluid simulation (yes, the blood looks better), and significantly enhanced environmental detail

✅ Fully Controllable Third-Person Camera — The original's fixed camera angles are gone. Now you control where you look, making exploration more immersive and the terror more personal

✅ Improved Character Models & Animations — Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere, and the rest of the cast look more lifelike than ever, with refined facial animations and motion capture

✅ Expanded Prologue — The tragic prank that set everything in motion now has more context, giving players deeper insight into the Washington family and the events leading to the sisters' disappearance

✅ New Collectibles — A new type of totem (Hunger totems) joins the existing set, offering new visions of possible futures. Original totems have also been moved to new locations throughout Blackwood Mountain

✅ Revamped Cinematography — New camera angles, shot compositions, and reaction shots make key moments (like Mike's bear trap scene and the Ouija board sequence) feel fresh and more impactful

✅ Enhanced Soundtrack & Audio — The iconic score has been re-recorded and reworked for a more immersive horror atmosphere

✅ Accessibility Improvements — QTEs and "Don't Move" sequences have been reworked with new options (including "Stay Calm" mode for controllers without gyroscopes), making the game more accessible to all players

✅ Deeper Environmental Interactions — New context and detail have been added to the world around you, encouraging more exploration and discovery

✅ The Original Story, Faithfully Preserved — Ballistic Moon has stated clearly: "Our intention has not been to alter the events of that fateful night." The story you love remains intact, now experienced with cutting-edge presentation
