Unique New York: Controversial Statues

Much progress has been made since this segment was produced but the conversation continues. It's not just statues and monuments of Confederate soldiers that are stirring up controversies lately. New York City has its share of controversial statues too. Today we are taking you throughout the city to explore some of these monuments that some find quite offensive.

*SOME UPDATES*

1) Progress is being made in the attempt to remove the statue of Columbus and rename Columbus Circle.
2) The monument of Dr. Sims has since been removed and placed by his grave in Brooklyn. (Along with a placard with explicit mention of the women on whom he conducted research.)
3) The Fearless Girl has since been relocated in front of The New York Stock Exchange.
4) Major advocacy continues for the removal of the Roosevelt statue outside of the American Museum of Natural History, but the discussion continues.
