Gluten Free Khichro/Khicdo

Ing:
4 cups gluten free instant oats
follow package directions for water needed to cook the oats
1/2 cinnamon stick
1 tsp salt
6-7 pappercorns
2 -3 clover
Start with getting the oats cooked
For the khichro tempering
1/2 cup olive oil or your choice of oil
1 tsp turmeric
1 tbsp garam masala powder
1/2 stick of cinnamon
1 tbsp ginger and garlic
1 tbsp green chutney or add chilies per your taste
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp lemon pepper
1.5 to 2 cups shredded meat already cooked and seasoned
4 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup of fried onions (non coated if you are making it completely gluten free
1 tbsp sambal or chili garlic sauce
4 roma or med size tomatoes (grinded)
garnish:
2 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped
2 to 3 limes quartered
Method:
Start of by making sure you have the shredded meat or chicken cooked and ready to go, next make sure and get the instant oats with the water and spices on the stove until it is cooked. Next start a new pot with the oil in there, once the oil comes to temperature add the ginger and garlic and let it cook for a couple seconds until you can smell the aroma, next add the cumin powder, green chutney, and the tomato paste, make sure and cook this on med low so you can get all the flavors out of the tomato paste.
Add the chili garlic sauce and keep cooking, next add the grinded tomatoes, and all the powdered spices and continue cooking until everything comes together, lastly add the onion and the cooked shredded meat in it. Do your taste test and adjust the taste per your liking. Feel free if you need to add some water in it. Take the mixture off of the stove and get the oats on the stove, make sure the mixture is not too thick, add the tomato mixture in the oats and make sure to mix it really well.
At this time see if you need to add water, the khichro will become thick as it sits, so just make sure to add water in it a little at a time. You are welcome to blend the mixture with a hand blander according to how you like to eat your khicro.
You can garnish with fresh cilantro, lime pieces and fried onions.
