Dr. Randeep Guleria explains Ebola symptoms, spread and why pandemic risk remains low

Former AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria explained the origins, symptoms and transmission of the Ebola virus, stressing that the infection spreads through close contact with infected body fluids rather than through the air like COVID-19. He said awareness, infection-control practices and avoiding non-essential travel to outbreak-hit regions are crucial in preventing spread. Dr Guleria also noted that despite Ebola’s high fatality rate, the chances of it becoming a pandemic are very low if proper precautions are followed.
