Painting Kitchen Walls - From Flat to Eggshell Paint

Kitchens are one of the places in a house or home that sees use almost every day. The kitchen is an important part to the house and these projects are where quality paint shines the brightest. Tribble Painting always recommends using a gloss that can withstand years of abuse and cleans up easy. This is why Tribble loves to use eggshell paint on most walls, especially where protection is important. Most factory finish paints are flat and aren't ready to protect your kitchen, and in this video we show you the importance of going from flat to eggshell paint.

When it comes to hanging up plastic and keeping your kitchen clean of splatter, make sure you hang your tape and drape right the first time. As seen in the video, the tape and drape didn't reach all the way to the top of the cabinets. In Tribbles 35+ years of painting experience, its always best to know your project, your space and how to handle it like a pro. Plastic doesnt have to be given an airtight seal to cover what you need. A simple hang or drape of furniture can keep all the splatter right where you want it - on the plastic for easy clean up!

If you aren't used to using big 18-inch rollers like we are, be careful not to overload your roller when doing overhead ceiling work, or it will literally start to rain paint down into your project area. Protecting your area to keep the splatter contained is a critical step to any project we undertake.
