Running & Exploring in Buena Vista, Colorado

So many great things to do in this town from rafting to hiking up one of the many 14,000 feet mountains in the area!

Here are some of my suggestions:

Running & Hiking:
-This is Nolan's 14 territory so there's no shortage of fun! I think all the 14ers in this area are class 1 to difficult class 2, meaning they're some of the safest 14ers in Colorado. Yale and Harvard are two of my favorites close to town. If you're willing to drive a little farther Mt. Huron is stunning and an "easier" one if you're new to bagging peaks.
-Colorado Trail
-Continental Divide Trail- Always love this in the summer months!
-Browns Pass has an incredible view. On the way you can tag Hartenstein Lake.
-In the winter months the "desert" trails on the south side of town are normally still in good shape for running, hiking, and mountain biking.

Local Attractions & Other Activities:
-Ghost Town of St. Elmo
-Cottonwood Hot Springs
-Mt. Princeton Hot Springs
-Rafting
-Paddle Boarding
-Mountain Biking
-There's often live music in the summer at The Beach/South Main

Food & Drinks:
-The Roastary
-Eddyline
-Asian Palate
-Simple Eatery
-House Rock Kitchen
