Suspect Crashes After Fleeing From DPS Detectives

According to DPS:

DPS State Gang Task Force detectives attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a silver Cadillac sedan on I-17 near McDowell Road around 9pm.
The suspect refused to yield and fled from detectives, exiting the 17 at McDowell Road.
Detectives did not pursue the vehicle.
The suspect then fled westbound on McDowell Road at a high rate of speed.
Moments later, the suspect, still traveling at high speed, ran the red light at 27th Ave going westbound on McDowell.
The suspect collided with a Range Rover SUV occupied by a driver and a passenger.
Troopers and detectives arrived on the scene of the crash seconds later and quickly requested assistance from Phoenix Fire.
The suspect and both occupants of the Range Rover were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
Their identities have not yet been confirmed.
A hard closure of the intersection was established as DPS Vehicular Crimes detectives investigated the incident.
The closure remained in place for several hours.
Speed and impairment are under investigation as possible factors in the collision.
