Core 'ngrato is a Neapolitan song written in 1911 by emigration Neapolitan Alessandro Sisca (called Cordiferro), grew up in New York. It was later set to music by Salvatore Cardillo.
Initially, neither had the intention of achieving a great success, even Cardillo her as a "scraps." Landed at Naples, Core 'ngrato was instead a great grip on public and became the first Neapolitan song of success coming from America.
