#24: Hickok 600a tube tester: Precision

In this video, we look at how different user settings on the Hickok 600a tube tester affect transconductance readings. The results suggest that a fairly wide range of measurements can result for a single tube, the variation due, in large part, to difficulty in reproducing user settings for the English, bias, and line adjustment controls. The bottom line is that transconductance, at least on this instrument, isn't a precision measurement.

An interesting and related experiment is described at http://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=156946
