Visiting the Austrian Parliament Building in Vienna — a masterpiece of Greek Revival architecture completed in the late 19th century. This is where Austria’s National and Federal Council meet today.

In front of the building stands the impressive Pallas Athena Fountain (1902). Athena, the goddess of wisdom, justice, and strategy, holds Nike, the winged goddess of victory, in her hand, while four river figures at the base represent Austria’s great rivers — the Danube, Inn, Elbe, and Moldau.

Athena’s presence is symbolic: wisdom and justice as guiding principles for lawmakers.
