5. Acie & Carolyn Worthy

It was 12;43 am on October 16, 1989 when firefighters rushed to the Worthy home at Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It was a rented home located about a mile from Interstate 59 just off Alabama Highway 216. When they managed to control the fire there, investigators entered the house to find both Carolyn and Acie Worthy inside. The couple had been shot dead.

4. Kassie Federer

On September 13, 1999, 19-year old, Louisiana State University psychology student, Kassie Federer had just finished class and returned to her Park Place Apartment around 3: 30 PM. She locked and bolted her door after she went inside but moments later, someone kicked in that front door, chased her around the apartment, shot and killed her. A bullet went straight into her lungs and then her head. When she died, she still had her phone in her hands.
