Pilates for Beginners - STOTT Pilates 5 Basic Principles

A perfect place to start if you are new to Pilates.
In this video I breakdown the 5 Basic Principles that provide the foundation of STOTT Pilates. Knowing and understanding the groundwork for:

1. Breathing - 01:03

4. Scapular Mobilization & Stabilization - 19:27
5. Head & Cervical Placement - 24:01

…is key to performing exercises safely and effectively.

It's important for everyone to go back to basics every now and again. I love going back to beginners exercises as it really helps me get back in tune with my body and helps with the more advanced exercises, too. All Pilates exercises are a real total body and mind workout!
As always, check in with a doctor if you are ill, pregnant or injured before you give any exercise video a go. With that being said, please listen out for any of the modifications I explain in the video that best suit your body.
