One of the coolest record labels I have ever seen, and not even because the design, like most British labels, is eye-catching, but because this record did its best to deliver value to the record consumer during the Depression. It is a shame the British Homophone Company never quite got this product off the ground, as while the first block of these sold pretty well during a rough period of the Depression, the later catalog numbers hardly ever appear. The thinly spaced grooves, while allowing for nearly 6 minutes of playtime on each side and two songs to fit on them, tend to wear faster then other records, and these long-players didn't have very long lives. For this reason, I am digitizing this record with a Fletcher's needle, which has a very fine point as opposed to the wider point of a regular steel needle.

I believe it is Sam Browne singing on both tracks on this side, though I could be mistaken. As one of the songs is distinctly cat-themed, I have chosen to include my good cat friend here in this video, recently suited up with a vest made for an even larger cat. It fits him pretty well, though!
