Heritage Talk: Environmental Archaeology in South Wiltshire

Wessex Archaeology presents this heritage talk an Introduction to Environmental Archaeology in South Wiltshire. We take a look at local sites that have significant environmental finds that help us develop our understanding of the local landscape.

Our speaker is Ines Lopez-Doriga, Lead Environmental Archaeologist at Wessex Archaeology.
Ines is an Archaeobotanist specialising in the study of plant macroremains, such as seeds and fruits, from archaeological sites. The purpose of her work is to investigate human interactions with the natural environment and reconstruct past diets and plant uses. As a researcher, she is most interested in the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods and the beginnings of cereal agriculture.
