Specialty chemicals will see a golden period in the future. Currently, over 70% of the raw materials required for pharmaceuticals comes from China. However, there will be a positive shift towards India in chemical manufacturing. Industry will need a lot of support from the government on export incentives, infrastructure since Indian companies lack in R&D & coming up with their own processes for manufacturing. Vinati Organics’ main factory running at 100%, second facility running at 70% capacity. The chemical industry given essential services permits, labour is the bigger challenge. The company is planning to revise the growth outlook from 25% to 15%, says Vinati Saraf Mutreja, Vinati Organics
