I Replaced Every Ad on the Internet With Art

I built a free Chrome extension that replaces every ad on the internet with real art from museum databases. Instead of blank spaces where ads used to be, you get Starry Night, The Great Wave, Girl with a Pearl Earring; pulled directly from the Met, the Art Institute of Chicago, and NASA. Hover over any piece to learn what it is and where it came from.

The average person sees up to 10,000 ads a day. Every single one exists to convince you that you need something you don't have. So I replaced them with something that gives instead of takes. The more ads a website has, the more art you see...which means the worst websites on the internet become the most beautiful ones.
