Sangandaan, Paghahanap kay Hesus sa Camino Ignaciano

The Camino Ignaciano is the route that St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, took
in 1522 in his quest to become a true servant of God. His journey began in his birthplace in Loyola,
Gipuzkoa, and ended in the small town of Manresa, 157 kilometers away from home. Today, the Camino Ignaciano has become a significant pilgrimage route, very much like Camino de Santiago. Pilgrims travel through picturesque mountains, beautiful deserts and wide plains before ending in the town of Manresa, where St. Ignatius underwent a profound spiritual enlightenment that led him to write the essence of his spiritual masterpiece: The Spiritual Exercises.

Sangandaan revolves around a group of pilgrims on a mission to complete the ultimate journey of
a lifetime—highlighting their personal struggles, physical and emotional pains, and unwavering
determination to complete the 157- kilometer long Camino Ignaciano. Following the footsteps of Ignacio de Loyola, the pilgrims’ journey of faith is captured as they walk the same path taken by St. Ignatius almost five hundred years ago. Their actual journey is then juxtaposed with key scenes from the film “Ignacio de Loyola” which recently won Best Film at the in 2017 Mirabile International Film Festival in the Vatican.
