crystal 6
Here is a prompt finish to our six-part series! The first four parts were done quickly nearly three years ago; we did part 5 last night, and here is the final part 6, in which medium wave AM radio signals are finally heard on a 1920s loudspeaker. Our imaginary 1920s radio enthusiast has progressed form the simplest form of crystal radio, via logical stages, to what would have been a *very expensive* home-made two-valve radio receiver with a loudspeaker, so he does not have to listen on headphones any longer. I found this series fun to make, though some technical details may be wrong. But I hope it gives you a slight flavour of making your own radio 80 years ago! Best of luck to you all in 2014.
