I thought helping people required a lot of money, Francis Ngannou proved me wrong.

For years, I thought making a difference was something I'd do one day.

When I had more money, when my business was bigger, when I had more time or when I was finally more "successful."

The problem was, that day never seemed to come.

Then I heard Francis Ngannou say something that completely changed my perspective.

He said giving someone $10 million might not change their life at all, take Elon Musk for example, but giving someone else $1,000 could completely change theirs.

It made me realise that impact isn't measured by how much you give, it's measured by what it means to the person receiving it.

When I was in Bali, I couldn't adopt every street dog I saw, but I could spend $50 a week on dog food and medicine.

I couldn't buy lunch for every construction worker I walked past, but I could buy a bag of drinks and snacks on a hot day.

None of those things changed the world, but they likely changed someone's world.

The same is true outside of money.

Checking in on a mate who's struggling, smiling at someone who looks like they're having a rough day, paying for someone's groceries, encouraging or lending an ear to someone who's ready to give up.

Sometimes it's not even about what you give, sometimes the gesture alone is enough to remind someone they're not alone, or restore a little bit of their faith in humanity (or remind them it still exists).

Too many of us spend our lives waiting until we think we have enough to make a difference, when the reality is, you already do.

You might not be able to change everyone's life, but you can almost always make one person's life a little better.

And to me, being a good man isn’t Rolex’s, Lambo’s, and tonnes of women…

It’s making the lives of those you come into contact with better.
