Hi there, Jesse here with Etrailer. Today, we'll be taking a look at, and I'll show you how to install the BAK BAKFlip G2 folding hard Tonneau cover on our 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Tonneau covers are great if you want to protect whatever you're putting in the bed of your truck, especially a hard Tonneau cover like this. There are some soft Tonneau covers out there that are just easier to break into. Somebody can just come through with a knife or something sharp, slash through it, and pull things out. Whereas with this hard Tonneau cover, it's gonna be really hard to penetrate those.

With your tailgate closed, nobody's going to be able to get into it, but it's still super easy to operate. Just have to open up your tailgate, pull down on this, and start unfolding it. Just go one panel at a time. As you can see, I can easily do this by myself just on one side of the truck, and you're able to fold it up and drive with it in this position, it does have some pads to protect your truck, and then you have prop rods here. Cool locking mechanism.

You just slot it into here, slide it down, and tighten it down. You'll do that on both sides, but as you can see, it's nice and sturdy, so you would definitely be able to drive down the road like this. So you definitely can drive with it in this position. However, you won't be able to see anything out the back window, so you're also able to drive with it kind of halfway folded down, and it comes with these straps that will hold it down and make sure no wind's able to unfold it while you're driving on the road. If you're looking for a hard Tonneau cover, this is definitely a good option for you.

There are some canister style Tonneau covers out there that are a little bit easier to operate, but that canister is gonna take up some space in your bed, and they're a little bit more difficult to install. As for the installation with this one, it's a pretty simple process. It's just a matter of getting your side rails mounted up, then getting the Tonneau cover all situated on top. So if you wanna see how that process looks, just follow along and I'll walk you through it. And if you've installed this Tonneau cover on your truck before, you just have some tips or tricks to share with us, or just wanna share some photos of what the Tonneau cover looks like on your truck, then please feel free to leave a review or a comment.

Our first step of installation will be to install our bulkhead seal. This just has some tape on it. One thing you'll want to do is make sure that your bulkhead is nice and clean, so get some soapy water, clean it off, and then follow that up with some rubbing alcohol just to get all that soapy water off there. But then you just peel off the backing and line it up. You'll have a little bit of extra, just cut that off. Back on our bulkhead here, we'll pop this plastic cover off. Just get a screwdriver or our knife. But we got our side rail here. This is for our driver's side. And first, we want to install our drain tube. It's just going to give any water a nice place to exit. So it's gonna install here. I find it easier to just take your goam and get it pushed onto your tube and push it onto our fitting here. Just get that pushed all the way down. And this will be our front end of our side rail. So I'll flip it around and we'll get it in place. Feed our drain tube down into that hole, and get our side rail lined up with our bed rail here. Get our clamps in place. This end will be what feeds into our Tonneau cover. So I like to make sure I get that one in place first and get it lined up and tightened down. Just make sure you got this sitting flush with your bed rails and it's not at an angle or anything like that. Then I'll get it snugged down with a 13 millimeter socket. For the spacing of the brackets here, we want one basically as far towards the bulkhead as we can get, so six to eight inches. I just found the farthest forward spot that was flat and our bracket would sit right, and then we want another one towards the middle. You just don't want it to be back behind this prop rod here. And then one as far back as we can get. Once again, I just picked the farthest back spot where the bracket would sit nice and flat. Before we get the cover installed, we'll have to ki
