Ukrainian forces fortify defences against Russian attack in Zaporizhzia

The regional government of Zaporizhzia in southern Ukraine released a video on Monday showing people shoring up the city's defences, preparing for possible Russian attack.

Video clips showed excavators digging up soil and workers in trenches.

“The work here is a regular one. (We build) fortifications which will save lives of our warriors and will let them effectively defend the city," said Oleksandr Starukh, head of Zaporizhzhia region state administration.

At least one person was killed and another wounded in a rocket strike on a commercial premises in Zaporizhzhia, local authorities said on Tuesday (April 26).

The regional administration said two rockets hit the premises and a third rocket exploded before reaching its target.
