House of The Rising Sun a timeless classic that once taken number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 5, 1964, and stayed there for three weeks. Originally an old American folk song rearranged to Bluesy Rock tunes by The Animals.

They performed live at The Ed Sullivan Show on October 18, 1964.

When Eric Burdon began to sing, crowds went crazy. So much so that Ed Sullivan actually had to shush the crowd several times during the broadcast to maintain control.

Eric Burdon later recall feeling incredibly nervous. As he realized that performing on The Ed Sullivan Show was a make or break moment for the American market.
