Gene Knockout, Gene Knockdown and Gene Knockin

This lecture explains the difference about the terms Gene Knockdown, Gene Knockout and Gene Knockin. Both terms refer to the alteration in the transcription from a gene, the difference being the level of transcription. In a knockout, the gene is not transcribed at all, whereas in a knockdown there is some transcription, usually well below the normal level.
