Why Count Dooku Created His Own Version of Clone Commandos - Nimbus Commandos

As the Clone Wars dragged on and the separatists began to lose key planets to the rapidly advancing Republic, Count Dooku realised that the Republic had a major advantage. The Republic made use of specialized Clone forces like ARC Troopers, Shadow Troopers and Clone Commandos. Dooku realized that he needed an elite group of soldiers to be the direct equivalent to Republic’s Clone Commandos, because droids would simply not cut it. So who did he recruit for this incredibly specialized group of Separatist commandos?

I’m going to break down exactly who the Nimbus Commandos were, and how they came into the service of count dooku.

The Nimbus Commandos were the Elite Guards that protected the leader of the Separatist forces on the planet Jabiim, Alto Stratus, during the battle of Jabiim.

The Nimbus commandos were heavily armored with custom armor made on the planet Jabiim, specifically at the Order of Count Dooku. Their helmets took strong inspiration from the Mandalorian warriors who trained the Republic’s Clone Troopers on Kamino, hoping to replicate the success of that program. The helmet also contained a mid range communications beacon within it, allowing for communication across most of a planet’s surface, only being stopped if a Clone Shadow Trooper showed up to block their communications. On top of this, the Nimbus Commando helmet contained a visor which glowed an intense orange. The visor contained tactical information about the battlefield that they were on, and also precise information about their weapon and armor systems. The visor also helped the nimbus Commandos to aim their weapons more accurately, providing guidelines for the Commando to shoot through.
