How to Get Up and Started with Wordpress (Hostgator) Hosting
Howdy!
Interested in Wordpress? Are you thinking about using Wordpress to build your first website, but don't know where to start. In this video, we'll go over how to get your site up and running on the internet (i.e., choose a web "host"). As a matter of simplicity, we'll choose HostGator, but you could just as easily choose another provider like Blue Ocean, WP Engine, Bluehost, or Amazon Web Services. Although the specific technical steps might differ, the ideas shared in this video are broadly applicable.
Choose a domain name, choose a host, choose the level of hosting and domain features that you want, and pay for them. Et voilà, you have your self a hosted site. Live on the web. Well almost. You still likely have to install Wordpress, choose your Theme, style your site, and add your content, but you're getting all that much closer. And in the next video, we'll help you go further along on the journey.
