Microsoft Doubles Effort to Design Arm Chip - Hires ex-Apple CPU Designer

Microsoft is working on its own Arm based processors for Azure Cloud and maybe for its Surface products. To help it achieve that MS has hired Mike Filippo, an ex-Arm and ex-Apple CPU designer of the highest caliber. Is this a good move by Microsoft?
