RARE Antique Mercury Glass Butler’s Ball, ca. 1840 - 1910

Used during the Victorian era by the upper class, the reflective surface of the ball allowed servants to observe those around them while facing the opposite direction to ensure seamless service, from refilling glasses to removing plates from the table. Made of a single piece of mercury glass, the bottom was painted to resemble wood. This ALL ORIGINAL treasure is 5-1/2 in. tall. It is SPECTACULAR!
