GrazeMate, a startup from the Y Combinator Winter 2026 batch, is developing AI-powered drones designed to autonomously herd and monitor cattle. Farmers install a system that includes a DJI drone, solar charging infrastructure, and a processing unit. Through a mobile app, they map paddocks, define gates, and schedule herd movements.

The drones then guide livestock automatically while using computer vision to track individual animals and monitor behavioral patterns. This allows farmers to detect potential issues earlier and manage operations remotely instead of spending hours manually herding cattle.

By targeting a clearly defined, labor-intensive bottleneck in agriculture, GrazeMate positions automation as a direct operational upgrade rather than a novelty. As adoption scales, autonomous systems may become a standard component of livestock management.
