Classic 50mm Multiple Toymakers / MPC Spaceman Figures: Casting Changes, Copies & Clones

Figure research courtesy of http://toysoldierhq.com MPC = Multiple Products Company (or Multiple Plastics Company) which used the shelf name Multiple Toymakers and had nothing to do with Marx Toys other than being in competition with them. It would be interesting to determine when the casting changes mentioned on the video took place as it could help to determine the age of loose groups of figures. The question of whether MPC produced both the "original" poses (pistol and rifle) and the two altered poses (stick and walkie-talkie) simultaneously is very much unanswered. Five of the poses remained unchanged through the run of the figures' production, two were changed. So far I have only seen packaged/new vintage MPC spaceman sets which have either the altered poses or the "original" poses. The two packages shown in the video from 1964 and 1969 had the "original" poses and the five unchanged figures. My bagged set is dated 1972 and has only the altered poses + the five which remained unchanged. Is it safe to conclude the change happened after 1969? Hit us up in comments if you have any insights!

The "Space.Trucks" videos, Instagram feed and related blog are for sharing my enthusiasm for vintage, antique & offbeat Space Toys with other grownup collectors and are not made with child-age audiences in mind.
