The Mermaid: Lake of the Dead – original title: (Rusalka: Ozero myortvykh) is a 2018 Russian fantasy horror feature film directed by Svyatoslav Podgaevsky, It stars Viktoriya Agalakova, Igor Khripunov and Efim Petrunin.
The plot is inspired by Slavic mythology: in Russia it was believed that drowned unmarried girls become mermaids - evil demons of rivers and lakes. The main character of the film Marina is preparing for the upcoming wedding and does not yet know that her lover Roman met a strange young girl on the shore of the forest lake. The girl is an evil Mermaid Roma aims to keep him away from Marina in her Kingdom of Death under water.After this meeting, every day it gets worse and worse.
