Relativistic Doppler Effect | How Frequency changes due to Relativity?

One consequence of the Special theory of relativity is the change of frequency (and wavelength) of light due to the relative motion of Source and Observer. This is called the Relativistic Doppler Effect. It is different from the classical Doppler effect of sound, as it involves Time dilation effects resulting in the Doppler effect.

In this video, I discuss a simple setup to obtain the relationship for the Relativistic Doppler Effect for source and observer in relative motion along an inclined path with respect to the line of sight. From there, I use the formula to obtain necessary expressions for Longitudinal Doppler effect (Both approaching and receding cases) and Transverse Doppler effect
