Title: New Perspectives on Advanced Building Control: Data-driven and self-triggered methods
Abstract: Residential and commercial buildings account for approximately 40% of global electricity consumption, and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) accounts for a large portion of this. This talk will present two control schemes that can significantly reduce the deployment and maintenance costs of advanced building controllers. We will cover an adaptive, robust bi-level data-driven control method, as well as a resource-aware self- triggered model predictive control approach, and will report on experimental studies run in an occupied building.
