How Facebook And Twitter Regulate Free Speech
Both President Trump and the Department of Justice are calling for a reexamination of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The act was originally meant to curb pornography and illicit materials posted online, but except for Section 230, it was found to violate the First Amendment. As Covid-19 forces lots of communities to gather online, policy makers are re-examing how internet platforms monetize digital conversations and may look to the FCC to hold them accountable for fake news, incendiary language and other digital content.
