How programming can make the law more accessible | Jason Morris | TEDxUAlberta
Jason Morris is the founding organizer of Legal Hackers Edmonton. In this talk, Jason explores the idea of artificial intelligence in the legal system and how it could make legal advice and services more accessible to the public. Jason Morris is a husband, father of three, lawyer, and computer geek. Once a self-taught programmer and database analyst, he now works at Round Table Law LLP, a virtual, paperless, cloud-based, automated law firm that he started in 2012. In addition to board games, video games, and Dungeons & Dragons, in his spare time Jason is a founding organizer of the Edmonton chapter of Legal Hackers. He is currently working on his LL.M. in computational law at the University of Alberta. His research is on artificial intelligence tools for the automation of legal advice. He was invited to the inaugural TBD conference for innovative small firm lawyers in St. Louis in 2016, and in 2018 will present at the University of Alberta Legal Innovation Conference, the Alberta Legal Technology Conference, and at seminars for the Legal Education Society of Alberta. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
