The UAE's deadliest trekking trail

Stairway to Heaven is dubbed as the UAE's toughest and deadliest trekking route. Starting from Wadi Ghaliliah in Ras Al Khaimah, the hike is a 23km journey up and down. The route is effectively a loop, however one side of the route is very dangerous and has even been fatal for some trekkers, hence it isn't recommended and instead ascending and descending on the same side is safer, equally challenging and ultimately scenic.

The accent is around 1,300m on a sister mountain on one side of Jebal Jais. I've left a link below for directions on where to start. I'd consider this trek difficult and will take at least 8 hours to complete, so start at 7.30am to avoid trekking in the dark, take some sun cream, 3 liters of water (minimum), some energy drinks, snacks and lunch. Also be sure to have proper hiking boots as the ground is loose and you could twist an ankle easily.

You can drive a car to a parking point and don't need a 4x4 for that. You can continue up further past the first parking in a car but you'll couldn't do in a low chassis car.
