Belarus: taxi driver helps protester escape riot police

Footage shared widely on social media shows a man being chased by baton-wielding policemen before jumping into a taxi to escape. The taxi driver appears to make a split second judgment, mounting the pavement and speeding away despite the angry shouts of the policemen. Crowds of protesters clashed with police in Minsk on Wednesday to protest the inauguration of Alexander Lukashenko for another term as president, after widespread accusations of vote rigging during the country's elections in August.
